Last year, Texas A&M University Libraries' OpenEd department launched a data dashboard to track, visualize, and communicate the impact of our OER initiatives across campus. This lightning talk will showcase how the dashboard aggregates data on course adoptions, student savings, and enrollment figures to tell a compelling story about open education's value. We'll share the technical approach, data sources, design decisions, and lessons learned from developing this public-facing tool. Attendees will see real examples of how quantitative evidence can support OER advocacy, demonstrate institutional commitment, and identify growth opportunities. Whether you're just starting to track OER impact or looking to enhance existing assessment practices, this lightning talk will provide practical insights into making your open education data work harder for your program, and how transparent reporting can build stakeholder trust and support for continued investment in open education initiatives.

Attendees of this session will be able to:
  • Identify data points that effectively communicate the impact of your open education initiatives to various stakeholders.
  • Explain how transparent data visualization can support OER advocacy and institutional buy-in.
  • Apply lessons learned from Texas A&M University's experience to enhance your own institution's impact assessment practices.
