The space between traditional course design and truly open, accessible education is where too many students get lost. This session presents a practical framework for using generative AI through a Universal Design for Learning lens to close that gap — making course materials more flexible, inclusive, and openly adaptable. Drawing on real examples from economics and finance courses at Berklee College of Music, participants will see how AI tools can help faculty move from rigid, one-size-fits-all content toward open educational practices that meet every learner where they are. Three key takeaways: (1) How UDL principles function as a prompting framework for AI-assisted course design; (2) A replicable workflow for creating openly adaptable course materials using AI; (3) Strategies transferable across disciplines and institution types.
